American International Group (AIG) led financial shares lower after the world`s biggest insurer posted loss for the third quarter due to write-downs on mortgage and derivative assets. CHICAGO - EXCLUSIVE - THE BENCH learned at 2:30 a.m. that arson is suspected in a suspicious fire ravaged four businesses early this morning in Chicago's "Little Chinatown" in the northern Uptown neighborhood. What are they thinking? August 6, 2008 | Filed in: Blather I just have to laugh. A few weeks ago while reading the Sunday paper I saw an ad for a new development that is being built not too far away from us. Now mind you, the housing market in this area has tanked. We have a relatively new home (built in 2004) that we kept lowering the price on and were unable to sell. I thought we were reasonable, and by looking at some of the home prices on our street, I still think we were “in the zone.”
